Description
Kloss, Dr. jur. P., History of the postal stamps of the Kingdom of Saxony. With 68 illustrations. Edited from official sources. Leipzig, Gebrüder Senf, 1882, privately bound in half-linen, 85 pages, with illustrations. Second monograph after Moens (1879) about Saxony, based on a series of articles by the author that appeared in the 'Union' in 1878, for which he was awarded a bronze medal by the 'Société Francaise de Timbrologie'. In 1882, the author was able to view the files on postage stamp production in the Saxon State Archives. The new findings from this inspection of the files prompted the publication of this book, which Kloss initially published himself. This is the second unchanged edition published by Senf. Title page slightly stained, otherwise only slight signs of age and wear. Rare! #63139
