Schüller, Friedrich: The Persian Post and the Postage Stamps of Persia and Buchara, self-published, Linz, 1893, available from the S. Friedl Stamp Museum in Döbling and from the E. Heim stamp shop in Vienna, the early and legendary Persia handbook by the Oriental traveler Schüller, here privately hardbound with leather spine label, 90 pages (+ 2 pages of supplement and table of contents) with all 4 folding plates in the appendix, the original cover pages also bound. The author spent 3 years in Persia and reports in detail on the distribution of forgeries by Major CM Mottes, see also the Larisch-Mottes-Schüller affair which at that time was circulating in 'Der Philatelist', the organ of the Dresden Philatelists' Association. Schüller can also refer to documents which were made available to him by the highest Persian authorities, including the Persian Postal Minister. Text pages slightly browned and only minor signs of wear, 2 of the 4 folding plates slightly torn in the right margin, but outside of the illustrations, binding and overall impression good.
